Sylvania’s range of SYL:Fire fire-rated downlights has been expanded to include two important new additions – a leading-edge mains-voltage LED model and a 10 W compact fluorescent version with dedicated pin base

The SYL:Fire LED is a fire-rated downlight powered by four 1 W, high-output, multi-lens LEDs. The product offers 20° adjustability.

The LED’s total power consumption is 6.5 W, yet the LED array has the equivalent light intensity of a 50 W halogen lamp.

Sylvania claims the LED lasts for 50 000 hours, thus requiring minimal maintenance.

The SYL:Fire L compact fluorescent pin-base model offers the same high compliance standards as the LED model, but features a 10 W Lynx DE lamp in Colour 830 as standard, with a dedicated G24 QL lamp base.

All SYL:Fire products are fitted with the latest intumescent material technology, which is capable of expanding up to 15 times its original size when exposed to either heat or pressure.

In the event of a fire, this will completely seal the fixture and the ceiling cut-out, which prevents smoke and flames from spreading.
