Transmitter pinpoints drilling hole on either side of a wall.

Hilti has launched the PX10 Transpointer, an innovative positioning tool that is aimed to save significant man-hours and money by allowing the user to find the exact entry or exit point when drilling in concrete or masonry walls.

The product uses adhesive putty to attach a transmitter to the surface at a precise position and locating the signal on the opposite side of the wall with a receiver, helping protect internal walls or cladding on building exteriors when drilling penetrations for pipes or cables.

The PX10 transpointer uses four directional arrows to bring the receiver accurately into alignment with the transmitter and can read the thickness of a floor or wall from 5 cm to 1.35 m so a suitable drill or core bit can be used.

With the aid of an optional slope adaptor, the product can also be used to drill holes at an angle. Both transmitter and receiver have a battery life of 17 hours, and the product ups health and safety by removing the need for overhead drilling.
