On the meter

Tyco Electronics has introduced some new additions to its Dorman Smith brand. The company’s line of electrical distribution and circuit protection products now includes products that address the requirements for power metering in the latest Part L2 Building Regulations. These include single and three phase kilowatt-hour meters, both in conventional form using separate current transformers and in an integral style with the current transformers built into the meter.

The new portfolio also includes a much more extensive range of Transient Voltage Surge Suppression (TVSS) devices. These are available in a packaged form that allows retrofit or system refurbishments to acquire the benefits without modification of existing switchboards or panels. Other versions of the TVSS devices fit directly into the Dorman Smith ranges of switching and circuit protection systems and enclosures.
