T8 replacement

Philips’ new Master TL-D Eco is a range of energy efficient linear fluorescent lamps that can directly replace T8 fluorescents and provide a 10% energy saving with no loss of light output (Ra>80).

The lamps are available in 50W, 31W and 15W and contain low levels of mercury (2mg) compared with equivalent products. They have been developed for indoor applications such as schools, offices and shops, meaning they will run on all types of control gear.

Pendant fitting

The Limburg glass pendant from Concord:marlin is aimed at the luxury hotel and boutique retail market. It is available in a chrome, satin, white or gold housing, with either hand-blown crystal or opal glass.

The latter uses three-ply opal glass (two clear outer layers and an inner opal layer) to produce a soft lighting effect, with an output ratio up to 50% higher than traditional opal glass or polycarbonate.

Accessories enable the creation of eye-catching clusters of pendants or “chandeliers” for larger spaces.

Award winning LED

The Tempura from Zumtobel Lighting is claimed to be the first LED luminaire to offer constant luminous flux at an individual selectable colour temperature from 2700K to 6500K. It produces cool, intermediate or warm light as required, or precise RGB colours.

Designed by the Vienna-based EOOS team around a combination of geometric shapes – a round pivoting head, flange mounted on a rectangular gear box Tempura marries the latest technology with distinctive looks. It won the International Forum Award for product design in 2007.

It is suitable for highlighting light/heat sensitive objects and its colour temperature can be adjusted manually or automatically to create lighting schemes for museums and art galleries.

Cool uplighter

The Achille Cool Glass Inground Uplight luminaire from Ansell Lighting has been developed to achieve maximum performance in commercial installations.

It is particularly suitable for areas where public safety is a priority because its double layer of glass, and the fact that the ballast is encased in resin, ensures the temperature of the glazed front does not exceed 70ºC.

An M20 x 1.5 mm single gland between the control gear and junction box at the base of the metal halide luminaire provides an effective defence against moisture; the product has ingress protection to IP67.

Ring light

The Trilux Polaron ring luminaire is available in three variations: surface mounted, semi-recessed and recessed. Created with Sieger Design, Polaron won the international design accolade of a Red Dot Award this year. When switched on it resembles a floating illuminated ring: its form was kept to a minimum to avoid distracting attention from the lit effect.

Trilux supplies the Polaron with a multi-media CD to enable customers to experiment with installation and operation possibilities. You even get a screensaver, wallpaper and a game to play.
