The International Facilities Management Association has offered advice to businesses concerned about the recent outbreak of swine flu.

According to their Pandemic Preparedness Manual, HVAC systems should increase the amount of outside air while the amount of recirculated air should be reduced.

The IMFA also advices that air-handling devise filters are changed more frequently as a precaution.

Two cases of swine flu have been reported in the UK, in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. There have been 152 suspected deaths from the deadly virus in Mexico, and 51 in the United States.
