Darron Littlehales has been appointed to the post of managing director at Nottingham-based m&e firm Goodmarriott & Hursthouse.

Trevor Hursthouse has moved up to chairman. Goodmarriott & Hursthouse, part of the European Imtech group, has an annual turnover of £30 million-plus and employs 250 people at its East Midlands and Yorkshire bases.

Among current projects are Farnborough Airport, Leicester’s Shires Shopping Centre and Stephenson College, Coalville.

Speaking at a presentation to staff, group chief executive officer Jim Steele reviewed the success of Imtech across Europe and confirmed the intention to grow UK operations significantly over the next five years.

“Imtech is already the largest mechanical and electrical engineering contractor in Germany, and it’s anticipated that by 2010 the European construction and engineering sector will be worth around £60 billion,” he said, “We intend to position Goodmarriott so that it can play an increasingly important role in this fast-growing sector of the economy.”
