2000 year-old boot is rarer than a glass slipper.

The remains of the shoe collection that could have belonged to the Iron Age’s answer to Imelda Marcos were recently found in the depths of a Hanson-owned quarry in Somerset. The size 10 leather boot – believed to be the oldest shoe in the UK at 2000 years old – has been sent for conservation at an Exeter museum. Rumours that several Hanson workers were seen casting aside their steel toe-capped footwear in a bid to claim the mysterious shoe – and any offers of a fairytale ending that would go to the person who it fitted - remain unconfirmed.
