Your cover feature in the May issue on Defending Da Hood highlights some of the issues in our community that I am passionate about resolving. That is part of the reason why I set up The Soul Project, to give something back to the community. The Soul Project is a social enterprise, and our aim is mainly to engage young people and their families to help secure positive futures.

I strongly believe a community should be able to thrive on the talent and ambition of its young people, and that young people should feel able to take up the many opportunities life has to offer, no matter how bad or hard the struggle of the day to day is. Through the interventions of The Soul Project we aim to get people together: talking; learning; sharing; entertaining. To find out more about how we run things, visit the website www.thesoulproject.com and get involved.
