Latest plans for Ulster Hospital's £55m redevelopment revealed

White Young Green's QS operation in Northern Ireland has kicked off the latest phase of a £55m hospital project. The redevelopment of Ulster Hospital has been procured under a performance related partnering deal. WYG is providing cost consultancy and planning supervision on the scheme.

WYG has just started on phase two A, which is the construction of a £5m terraced multi-storey car park with 506 spaces. It is due for completion in February 2007 and has been designed by architect WDR & RT Taggart, Belfast.

Phase two B is a £40m new building featuring new theatres, critical care facilities, storage facilities and laboratories. The size of this building is around 165,000sq ft. It is due on site in March 2007 and should be finished by spring 2009. It is being designed by Todd Architects, Belfast.

Phase one of the project, a £10m new maternity unit, is already on site and due for completion in summer 2007. The size of the scheme is about 50,000sq ft and it has also been designed by Todd Architects.
