Bosses could end up in jail if they flout new laws over rights to work in the UK.

The Border and Immigration Agency introduced regulations on 29 February on permission to work in the UK. Those not complying with the new laws face fines of up to £10,000 or even a prison sentence.

Employers are advised to hold copies of documents for all their workers to prove they are entitled to work in the UK.
