From Keystone Electronics comes a Wireless System based on the Avanti control panel (below). The panel offers remote arm/disarm and panic, together with four or five wireless zones plus two or three hard-wired zones.
Product is supplied for add-on hybrid solutions as well as complete wireless systems. The add-on product allows you to add a radio receiver to any alarm control panel as well as remotely activate cameras, sirens etc. Receivers are available in one, two or six channel versions.
Transmitters include one, two or four button remote controls, PIRs, universal wall-mount transmitters, door/window transmitters and photoelectric or ionisation smoke detectors. All wall-mount transmitters have a low battery and tamper signal.

Standalone or back-up
The Daitem system (pictured right) is described by manufacturer Atral as "supremely reliable".
It can be used in standalone mode or as a back-up to hard-wired systems for extra protection to cover the possibility of mains or telephone line failures, calling up to three correspondents in an emergency.
The control panel has eight wireless channels that include intruder, fire, panic and technical, which can accommodate wireless accessories such as PIRs, flood, freezer and frost detectors, smoke detectors and door contacts.
The Daitem system is powered by a lithium battery pack and uses TwinPass (Atral's patented dual frequency technology) using two complementary radio frequencies.

High-risk locations
The Zone Alarm system from MDH Wireless Technologies is now being used by South Wales Police. Police protection units are individually deploying the consoles into high-risk locations. Fitting is done simply by plugging in the mains wall battery charger and switching on.
Those in danger carry a keyfob that, on pressing the button, activates the alarm and alerts the police control room via their existing network. Complete with battery back-up and with wireless accessories, it is easy to use, maintain and relocate when needed.

Seamless integration
Operating in the 868MHz or 433MHz ranges and supporting major international standards, these systems are CE approved, meeting stringent requirements while providing good performance for distance and range.
The receiver has “superior” sensitivity and interference rejection and also permits noise measurement, jam indication and real-time RSSI (received signal strength indication).
The sophisticated protocol includes a 24-bit pseudo-randomly programmed address, increasing security while significantly reducing random interference and thus false alarms. The system, which includes status and error detection bits, offers a high bit rate (2.4Kbps), thus minimising collisions and achieving longer battery life. All detectors are supervised.
Benefits of WaveSYS include:
- Hidden, more secure system relative to wireless standalone control panels
- Assures stability, resistance to interference and longer battery life
- Simple installation, signal and noise level from each detector is presented on LCD keypad during installation; no need for external strength meter
- Elegant wireless keypad with extensive features such as Quick Arm, Output Operation, Medical, Fire, Panic.

Infinitely useful equipment
Secure transmission methods, long battery life and detection accessories enable the installation of Infinite to be trouble free – and more importantly, wirefree.
While Infinite’s primary role is that of a highly secure intruder alarm, its full capabilities can offer many functions that combine protecting the property with useful home management options.
After initial installation, further options are modular simple plug-in devices.
Enables two-way automatic communications from Infinite via a standard telephone line to up to three pre-set numbers after an alarm event or on manual request from the system user. When a call is received from the system the answering party can enter a pre-agreed code, which opens two-way speech communication via the panel’s on-board speaker and microphone.
Offers remote or programmed control of up to 16 240v devices around the home without any further wiring. Appliances around their property can be controlled via the Infinite’s on-board keypad, wireless keyfobs, wireless keypads or even sms commands from a mobile phone. An x-10 receiver is introduced between the appliance plug and its normally-used socket, allowing Infinite to “talk” directly to the appliance via the 240v mains ring.
Communication and control of the Infinite system to and from a mobile phone on the GSM network. The INF-GSM is fitted with a standard SIM card and becomes an embedded mobile phone in the Infinite panel.
Control of Infinite home automation devices and two-way sound communication can then be achieved from virtually anywhere in the world.
