Celebrated security guarding specialist Wilson James – once again a finalist in this year’s Security Excellence Awards – has won a hatful of accolades this summer, including a total of four national award wins since May alone.
The winning streak began when Wilson James (Security) managing director Stuart Lowden (pictured) scooped the Industry Leadership Award at IFSEC 2006 in recognition of the pioneering work he has done to promote improved working practices and staff welfare standards both through the company and by way of various industry Committee positions (Stuart is chairman of ASIS International in the UK).
In July, the company then scored two out of three national winners in the British Security Industry Association’s (BSIA) Security Officer Awards. These were presented to Tim O’Callaghan and Duncan Elson (‘BSIA honours security officers’ actions in the wake of 7/7 bombs’, SMT, August 2006, ) in the Service to the Customer category.
Later that same month, the winning streak then reached its peak when the company clinched one of the most sought-after business accolades at this year’s National Business Awards regional finals. Wilson James secured the Business Improvement Through People Award at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.
Speaking about the last award, Stuart Lowden told SMT: “As a people-focused company, the National Business Award is of particular importance to us as it’s designed to recognise exceptional organisations who have striven to create a committed, motivated and effective workforce. It is a testament to the strength, loyalty and hard work of every member of our staff. Without them, this success and recognition would not be possible.”
