A new floodlight scheme by Thorn has raised the profile of Bristol’s Wills Memorial Tower.

The work was part of a £750 000 restoration project, which also restored Bristol University’s gothic tower centrepiece to its original colour. AMP Electrical used low-wattage, white, metal-halide lamps to enhance the sandy Bath and Clipsham stone. Eight 150 W Contras C floodlights illuminate the face of the tower, the lower part of which is lit by four 70 W ground-recessed Mica B floods.
