SIR – Over many years I’ve met a number of practitioners who hold the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) qualification run by ASIS International, and have always been impressed by their professionalism. Indeed, during the course of my own security management studies I received great assistance from ASIS members in the United States when on a research visit to the mid-West. My host was a CPP, in fact. Nonetheless, I do have some concerns relating to this qualification. More specifically, the sole use of the multiple choice question for assessment.
