This month's appointments …

Ian Thomason (1), a partner at consulting engineers RW Gregory, has been elected chairman of the European Consulting Engineering Network Top E. The network consists of a single mechanical and electrical consulting engineering practice in each major European country, together with an affiliated practice in New York.

Cathryn Hickey (2) has joined training organisation SummitSkills as operations director. She replaces Blane Judd, now chief executive of the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering.

Building services contractor and designer SES has appointed Ian Fail-Brown (3) as divisional business director for its southern division.

Electrical Power systems designer and manufacturer Ter-mate has appointed Rob Swann (4) as managing director. He takes over from his father Steve, who has taken the role of chairman.

Yan Evans (5) has moved from being Baxi Heating’s business development director to technical director of the new Baxi Commercial Heating business, incorporating Andrews Water Heaters, Potterton and Baxi Commercial Boilers.

Paul King (6) has been promoted to the board of Coolmation Service as regional sales director for the south-east of England.

Rob Boland has joined Tyco Thermal Controls as UK sales manager (specialist channels), with responsibility for supporting architects and consultants with application-specific electric heating solutions and fire-rated wiring systems.

Photovoltaic specialist Solarcentury has appointed Derry Newman as chief executive and Alan South as chief innovation officer.
