This month's appointments …

Simon Burrows has been appointed technical director of Flatt Consulting with responsibility to manage the electrical services on several high profile projects.

Consultant HurleyPalmerFlatt has made a series of high profile appointments: Bernard Antieul (1) has joined as director of the building services division at the Purley office. He joins from Hilson Moran. John Belton, based at the firm’s Canary Wharf office, has been promoted to main board director; while Tim Barrott (2) has joined the property division as a building surveying associate director from Drivers Jonas.

Water engineering specialist Devin Consulting has promoted Colin Dougall to technical director while Geoff Harrison has been appointed non-executive director.

Design and contracting firm Briggs & Forrester has made three promotions. Mark Payne (3) will become operations director; Ian Lawrence (4) will take up a new role as regional operations manager for Northampton-based projects, while Peter Talbot becomes regional operations manager for eastern England.

Kim Gayford (5) has been appointed special projects manager for Suffolk based M&E contractor Bower Fuller, where he will oversee projects up to a value of £100,000.

At the HVCA, Billy Wilgar of AC Wilgar has been elected chairman of the heating and plumbing services group and Robert Smith of RJS Heating, Plumbing and Mechanical Services has been elected vice chairman.

SummitSkills, the sector skills council for building services, has appointed Bill Cherry as operations manager for Northern Ireland. Previously, he worked for mechanical and electrical contractor Heat.

Adam Turk (6) is to head up Polypipe's Commercial Building Systems initiative.
