Movers and shakers this week...

  • Nick Syson (1) has been appointed divisional director to lead multidisciplinary consultancy Hurleypalmerflatt's IT and communications division. The division provides advice to clients who are relocating or refurbishing premises and upgrading their IT systems.
  • Jonathan Tranter has joined Arup's building services management team in Sheffield as associate director. He was previously operations director at Capita Symonds.
  • Building services consultant Cameron Taylor has promoted Frank Beglin (2) and Cathy Crocker (3) to associate level at the firm's Birmingham and London offices respectively.
  • Electrical engineer Jeff Sims (4) has been promoted from principle to associate at consultant White Young Green.
  • Three promotions have taken place at Briggs & Forrester's engineering services division, starting with the promotion of Graeme Clement to London regional director. Conty O'Sullivan has been promoted from commercial manager to director of special projects and Tim Noble becomes operations manager of the same division.
  •  M&E contractor Powerminster made two new appointments on its maintenance team. John Roe (5) takes up the new position of business development manager and Peter Rose has been appointed operations director.
  • Vinay Patel has become one of the few construction lawyers based in the north of England after joining legal firm Jackson Commercial & Private Law.
  • Elsewhere, Peter Kingdon (6) has been appointed chairman of the Considerate Contractors Scheme and Gil Male has been appointed technical officer of the International Powered Access Federation to provide advice on technical and regulatory issues in the use of powered access equipment and mobile elevating work platforms.
