Wolseley UK, the country's largest supplier of plumbing and heating products, has acquired AC Electrical Wholesale for £17.6 million.

The buyout is in line with Wolseley's intention of becoming a leading name in the electrical sector, which was first announced when it acquired electrical and plumbing distributor William Wilson in October 2005.

William Wilson's branches are in the North and Scotland. AC Electrical now gives Wolseley nationwide coverage.
