Listed consultant acquires QS and project manager

White Young Green (WYG) today annnounced it had agreed to buy 150-strong QS and project manager Tweeds for £11m. It follows six months of talks between the firms.

WYG chief executive John Purvis revealed his firm had approached Tweeds last year. Tweeds will now form part of WYG's management services, which will have a workforce of 250 and will be headed by Tweeds director Peter Swift. Tweeds was founded in 1952 and has offices in London, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Mold and the Isle of Man.

WYG also announced its interim results for the six months to 31 December which saw turnover up 19% to £78.6m and operating profits up 14% to £6.4m.
