E2S has developed digital to analogue software and amplifier technology that enables its sounders to mimic an industrial hooter, high- and medium-frequency mechanical sirens, a buzzer and a bell.

The advantages of replacing electromechanical devices with electronic equivalents are savings in power consumption and weight. Sirens and hooters can be very heavy and often need three-phase mains power.

With output levels of up to 121 dB(A) at one metre, the Hootronic range requires zero maintenance, claims E2S.
