What a goal: Children from the Woodgrange Estate in Southend in front of a mural they created after winning a £700 grant from government-funded community investment body Connexions. Local young people worked with community artist Dave Taylor in brightening up their surroundings as part of a wider regeneration scheme. The painting of the mural was organised by the Circles project, the recipient of a single regeneration budget grant. The Woodgrange Estate includes more than 700 households.
