Vandalism and deliberate water contamination are being thwarted by remotely monitored CCTV in Cambridge.

Following a directive from the Home Office that all water utilities must be centrally monitored, Cambridge Water approached Sygma Security Systems, an installer with significant experience with utility companies.The existing system was difficult to operate and labour intensive. It also experienced many false alarms. The new system needed to include perimeter protection, remote access control and operation of gates and barriers.

Sygma proposed ADPRO FastTrace and ADPRO Video Central remotely monitored video. This also allowed control room operators to give a spoken warning to intruders.
