Water great idea: Threshold Housing and Support, Ujima Housing Association and Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation are embarking on this £30m development of 128 low-energy homes in west London. It’s one of the first in the UK to bore into the water table for water to heat and supply the homes. The scheme was designed by Gardner Stewart Architects and will be built by Mansell Construction Services. Work will begin in summer and be completed by late 2006.
