Glass Age's The Verifier, Rod Appleyard, was featured on BBC TV's Watchdog programme recently in an exposé of a con man dubbed the 'Conservatory Casanova'.
Rod, a highly experienced independent expert witness and adjudicator to the fenestration industry, was asked to pass comment on the shoddy work of a Norfolk based con artist and conservatory installer.
The 'Conservatory Casanova' charmed two ladies out of their savings, promising them the conservatory of their dreams. He actually did the work for a third homeowner, but might as well have not bothered. Citing a multitude of failures, Rod pronounced it 'abysmal' and said that the whole lot should come down.
Rod's survey took around three hours to film, and was edited down to a hard-hitting series of sound-bites for Watchdog, which was screened on March 29th. 'Thanks to the BBC for stopping a true cowboy' says Rod.
