Watair, a 96 m² inverted pyramid array of panels that collects dew from the air to provide fresh water, has won Arup’s ‘drawing water challenge’.

Designed by Joseph Cory and Eyal Malka from Haifa, Israel, the Watair is intended for use in remote and polluted places as a source of clean and safe water. The design, inspired by a spider’s web, provides a minimum of 48 litres of water a day and works even on rainless days. Compact and lightweight, it can be folded up when not in use
