10:30AM Property consultant chosen by Castlemore Securities for new retail project in Wiltshire

Castlemore Securities has appointed national property consultancy Wakemans on its new retail scheme in Warminster, Wiltshire with an overall development value of £10m.

Wakemans is acting as employer’s agent, QS and planning supervisor on the development.

The scheme aims to bring trade that has been lost to nearby centres such as Bath, Salisbury, Frome and Trowbridge back to the town. Located in Fairfield Road, close to Warminster town centre, it is expected to create up to 80 jobs for local people.

With a total gross internal floor area of approximately 50,000 sq ft, the scheme comprises four retail units, two of which have been pre-let, plus a garden centre.

Associated construction will include provision for 140 car park spaces, footpaths and landscaping, plus external drainage works, access roads and services.

Contractor Dean and Dyball started on site in March – following the demolition of the former Clark’s shoe factory and other derelict structures – and the scheme is scheduled for completion in November this year.
