Blade runner
Siemon has launched an augmented version of its BladePatch patch cord.
The 10 G 6 A F/UTP BladePatch is RJ45-style and can be inserted and removed without the need to depress an external latch. As part of a 10 G 6 A F/UTP channel, it meets or exceeds all pending 10GBASE-T standard requirements, including alien crosstalk parameters.
Designed to work with most RJ45-style outlets or patch panels, its ideal use is with blade servers. It has a slim boot for tight side-stackability.

Network closed
Enclosure Solutions has introduced the IMnet II, an updated version of its first enclosure to be designed for the networking market.
The X frame design means that cables do not have to be threaded through a frame, so runs through the building can be positioned first, with the cabinet then being offered up and the breakouts connected, reducing installation time.
Cables can be laid into the cabinet through three separate apertures, allowing 3D cabling throughout the rack.

Six of the best
Brand-Rex has launched an Augmented Category 6/Class EA product set. Compatible with Cat 6 (Class E) and Cat 5e (Class D) solutions, it is also designed to comply with the forthcoming IEC Class EA and TIA 568B.2-10 standards that support the new 10GBASE-T Ethernet protocol.
The 10GPlus solution includes a range of shielded and unshielded cables, jacks, panel and patch cords, plus a new ‘reuleaux' triangle shaped UTP cable. This shape was chosen to minimise the cable's diameter while addressing the issues of alien crosstalk.

Ideal tester
Ideal Industries has added the Lantek 6A to its series of handheld test equipment. The cable tester is fully compliant with the draft Category 6a standard. It operates at frequencies of up to 500 MHz enabling it to fully certify Category 6a installations. It uses Ideal's patented measurement system allowing standard patch cords to be used for link testing instead of bulky and expensive test adapters.
The unit's DUALmode test function allows two different certification tests to be performed simultaneously on the same cable.
