The Faithful+Gould regional director can hear Jazz every Thursday evening in the summer months
What do you see?
I work in Tunbridge Wells in a building located right at the end of The Pantiles. This is a row of shops, bars and restaurants that is well known in Kent, and tourists come to see it by the bus load. In the summer there is Jazz on The Pantiles every Thursday evening where several hundred people gather to enjoy the music over a couple of drinks. My view is slightly obscured by a couple of trees but there may be some serious repercussions if I chopped them down one evening to improve the view.
Having recently gone to the Olympic Park and been blown away by what our industry has achieved I think it ranks highly
What floor are you on?
The third floor.
What are you working on?
I run an office of 22 people made up of project managers, cost managers, CDM-coordinators and building surveyors and I am responsible for the client management and business performance for the office. I head up our new PM framework with the University College London and am working on a remediation project for GlaxoSmithKline. Between that, pursuing new business opportunities and managing current bids I am fairly busy!
What’s on your desk?
I try to keep my desk fairly tidy and not accumulate piles of papers everywhere. The iPhone is always close by and am trying to get into Twitter. I also have a copy of Building and Project magazine on my desk along with a couple of books on contracts and project management.
What’s your all time favourite view?
Having recently gone to the Olympic Park and been blown away by what our industry has achieved I think it ranks highly. I have been to quite a few places so far and seen loads of great views but one that springs to mind is standing in the recreation yard on Alcatraz looking back at San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge - amazing place to stand for a view.
