Vent-Axia has launched the Sentinel energy efficient, on-demand ventilation system for commercial buildings.

Sentinel uses control and motor technology to respond to the exact ventilation needs of a room. It is triggered by people entering or leaving the space or by atmospheric conditions and managed by automatic sensors and controllers according to maximum demand.

They are available as single or twin units for run and standby applications and for automatic load sharing in high duty uses.

Toshiba Air Conditioning has launched a four-way blow cassette-style indoor air conditioning unit to fit standard 600 x 600 mm grids in suspended ceilings.

These complement the firm's existing vrf indoor units. A one-way blow cassette has also been added to extend the indoor unit range for vrf systems.

System solution

Daikin Europe NV now offers inverter-driven Sky Air R410A outdoor condensing units with a communication box interface and expansion valve kit for connection to the direct expansion cooling coils of third-party manufactured commercial air handling units.

The condensing units (ERX100, 125 and 140) are suitable for cooling only applications and are available for single-phase connection. They replace the firm's EKRPER R407C units; the earlier ERX200 and 250 models will remain in 2006.

Quiet cool

Carrier has introduced ten new products aimed at the residential and light commercial market.

The core product is the Xpower 1:1 Silentech split system. This is a hi-wall split system heat pump air conditioner. It is offered in capacities of 0·9-4·0 kW cooling and 0·9-5·8 kW heating.

On the wall

LG has widened its range of wall-mounted indoor units to include inverter, non-inverter and cooling-only models.

Features include the Neo-Plasma Air Purifying System; Jet Cool; Gold Fin, where heat exchanger surfaces are coated with a gold finish for durability and to maintain high levels of efficiency; and auto changeover.

LG wall mounts all work with Multi F and FDX, flexible multi-split systems. These offer the benefits of vrf technology. LG wall mounts are also suited to Multi V with inverter-driven compressors.

Clima change

Vaillant has entered the UK unitary air conditioning market with the launch of a range of high-wall and cassette split systems.

The climaVAIR and climaVAIR Plus ranges offered are aimed at the domestic and light commercial markets.
