Work on this 750-home scheme at the Dee Park Estate in Reading will start on site later this year. A number of 1960s blocks will be demolished and replaced with both private and affordable homes, including a 60 sheltered units for the elderly. There will also be a community centre and primary school. The development by Inspace and Catalyst Housing will be complete in 2017.


This 12-block scheme at Deptford Creek on the River Thames in London will house 630 private residential apartments. Most of the apartments will have terraces or balconies. The eight-acre site will also include commercial space, a heritage museum and a food mall. The scheme, by

Galliford Homes, is expected to be completed by 2011 just in time for the Olympics.
