The face of Swindon will be dramatically different by 2016 when Amec will have completed its £300m Exchange project in the town centre.


The face of Swindon will be dramatically different by 2016 when Amec will have completed its £300m Exchange project in the town centre. The New Swindon Company is overseeing a £1bn regeneration of the town and awarded Amec the contract to redevelop a 7.1 acre site. It will include a public square, 25,000m2 of retail and leisure space, 55,000m2 of offices and 450 residential units.


The “Rotherhithe Renaissance”  began last year when Rotherham council appointed Liverpool-based developer Iliad to build a £6.3m five-storey apartment block on a former car park.
