Birmingham's 1.5m ft2 Mailbox development is coming to an end with the grand finale of The Cube, a 17-storey mixed-use building. Designed by architect Make, the 450,000 ft2 building will have a glazed base of waterside restaurants and shops with apartments and a hotel. Developer Birmingham Development Company has divided each floor of apartments in half, designating one half to investors and the other to owner occupiers.

The Channel is an ambitious proposal for an urban village with apartments, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, offices, a hotel, leisure and healthcare facilities on a 5.3 ha site in Bradford. Developer behind the scheme is Bradford Channel, which is fronted by Magellen Properties, and design is by Robinson Architects. The Channel is within the Will Alsop masterplan for the city centre and is awaiting planning approval.
