An £8 million project at the University of Reading has seen the Philip Lyle Building redeveloped as a bio-diversity unit within the Faculty of Science.

As part of this work, all low voltage electrical services within the five-storey building, including building controls and data-communications networks are being contained by Mita cable management systems.

Mita's Cableline Ultra 60 two-compartment perimeter trunking has been installed throughout by electrical contractor Lowe and Oliver to carry a high-bandwidth structured cabling network for new IT facilities. Mita's aluminium bench trunking was used in the laboratories.

The project included new offices, labs and an IT centre housing computer servers. Construction was scheduled to complete in March.
