‘Underperforming whatever the weather’ is how the Financial Times recently described Ultraframe’s performance.
The conservatory systems specialist posted an operating loss of £0.7 million in its results of the 26 weeks to 1st April 2005. Turnover was £44.0m, 17.7 per cent down on the same period last year. No interim dividend was paid.
Results were not helped by net exceptional items of £2.7m, which included UK litigation of £2.6m.
Ultraframe Chairman Rod Sellars stated that he expected a return to profitability before tax, goodwill and exceptional items in the second half.
