UK Guarding Services has launched what is the industry's first UK broadband remote video monitoring service.
Built by installation partner Fox Surveillance, and boasting IP remote monitoring using the Sirrus Sentinel software suite, UK Guarding's new Control Room is compatible with legacy PSTN and ISDN services, as well as new broadband and WAN connections on IP.

In operation, the Sentinel software equips the Control Room to receive alarm-triggered video images from no less than eight different IP video manufacturers – including Axis and Sony. Uniquely, the broadband provision means that the contractor can also offer continuous 24/7 network video monitoring to key clients (for such purposes as full weekend cover).

Commenting on the Control Room opening, Ray Stone – UK Guarding's founder – told SMT: "We're delighted with the performance of the Sentinel equipment, and pleased to be at the forefront of broadband video monitoring. Our clients have been asking for such a service for some time. This must be the way forward."
