The government should fund London’s homeless people to become key workers, a new report has said.

The study, from the London Housing Federation, looked at two key workers who became homeless and two homeless people who joined the public sector, including firefighter Kristian Edwards. The report, published yesterday at the NHF conference, called on the government to change funding for temporary housing, so people can work while they wait for a permanent home, and to up funding for schemes that combine homes and training.
