Tribal PM and QS for fashion academy

Consultant Tribal Group has announced the successful completion of a new Fashion Retail Academy in Gresse Street, London. Tribal provided project management, architecture, structural and services engineering, quantity surveying, pre-contract planning supervision and IT provision for the scheme.

The firm worked in partnership with fashion retail giant Arcadia Group in developing the academy.

Designed by project architect Jeff Stibbons of Nightingale Associates, the 45,000 sq ft building is spread over six floors, including a three-storey atrium which lies at the heart of the academy showcasing mannequins, student exhibits and Fashion TV.

The building can accommodate 400 entrepreneurs, aged 16 to 18, looking to learn the skills of the fashion retail industry.

The academy is set to help raise the status and value of vocational education and training. Tribal joins an existing profile of education experts, including the DfES and the Learning and Skills Council, to enhance an already prolific partnership to the benefit of both fashion students and the retail industry.
