The JIB is to assist individuals in furthering their industry-related education with payments of up to £500.

It is inviting applications for financial assistance from JIB graded operatives and JIB registered apprentices who wish to undertake further training or education in the industry.

Funding will be provided for courses over and above the established standard industry training provision including:

  • training for advanced positions;
  • subjects related to the industry;
  • travel and research in connection with study;
  • the promotion of further education and advancement in the industry;
  • research which will benefit the industry as a whole.
JIB chair, Sir Michael Latham, said: "I am delighted that the JIB is taking a proactive role in funding further training."

Funding is limited and monies will be distributed on a first come first served basis. Application forms are available from the secretary to the Further Education Fund: JIB, Kingswood House, 47-51 Sidcup Hill, Kent DA14 6HP.
