Professional Learning

A full range of CIBSE Professional Learning courses is taking place early next year in Manchester.

The courses offer practical training to those new to building services and those who wish to further develop their competence and expertise. They can be accessed either as one-off courses or form the basis for a full training and development plan for new designers. Topics include:

  • Design of heating and chilled water pipe systems (16 January)
  • Cooling systems (17 January)
  • Heating systems (31 January)
  • Low energy options for heating and cooling (13 February)
  • Introduction to mechanical and electrical building services (19 February)
  • Health issues in Building Services (1 March)
  • Facades and Part L (6 March)
  • Tools for success as a modern building services engineer (7 March)
  • High voltage distribution (11Kv) (26 March)
  • How to specify lighting (27 March)

Training Submissions

The next Training & Development Panel meeting is scheduled for 18 January 2007. Trainees on approved employer-based training schemes are reminded to submit their objective achieved reports and covering annual overview on an annual basis (i.e. anniversary of training commencement date). Please ensure these are submitted at least one month before scheduled Panel dates.
