Plans have been unveiled for a 43-storey tower to be built opposite Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in London.

The 19,500 m2 scheme by SMC Alsop combines retail and bars, a business centre, self-storage units and a hotel. The building tapers and twists to allow daylight to penetrate at street level while articulated chimneys known as solar siphons wrap around the buildings fabric to provide natural ventilation to the hotel apartments. M&E consultants on the scheme are The Kut Partnership; environmental consultants are URS; quantity surveyor is Franklin Andrews.
