Due to increasing demand at their Park Royal factory for high quality polished edge glass panels, Toughglaze have ordered a CMB high production horizontal double edging line from JPW Glass Services. The line comprises an automatic loading unit, two double edging machines with 11 spindles per side (see picture), dubbing unit, six spindle drilling and shape notching machine, horizontal glass washing machine and automatic unloading unit. The maximum glass size that the line can process is 4200mm x 2600mm, which complements their existing tempering operation. Edged and polished glass pieces can be passed through the line and directly offloaded, or can be automatically transferred to the drilling machine.

The line is capable of achieving a maximum speeds relative to glass thicknesses up to 25mm and will vastly reduce handling problems, more than doubling existing production capabilities. All individual pieces are scanned by a bar code system prior to entering the line, which then adjusts itself accordingly.

Toughglaze can supply tempered glass from 4mm to 25mm thicknesses. Their London factory is also fully equipped to provide glass processing such as sandblasting, screen printing, bevelling, straight and shape edging and polishing, and they can also supply multi-laminate glass, fire-rated glass and all types of float and patterned glass. As a result of their acquisition of Ozone Glass, they can also supply fused glass panels and doors.
