Major trade window and door fabricator Total Glass has received an business award for its innovative and progressive approach to business.

The Merseyside company’s approach to training and employment of local people, product quality and innovation, along with its imminent expansion plans, all contributed to its clinching the ‘Best Business of the Year Award 2004’ in the Knowsley Economic Forum Enterprise Awards scheme.

Production Manager David Ogilvie accepted the engraved glass trophy at a special ceremony organised by the Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council.

Delighted with the award, Managing Director Frank Deary comments: ‘Everyone is very proud that our successful business philosophy over the past 16 years has been recognised in this way, particularly in terms of promoting NVQ achievement and the value of a well-trained workforce.

‘Last year, we employed 60 more people who have all taken part in our dedicated four-week fabricator training scheme. From the beginning of this year, this facility has been extended to other companies within the area who want their employees to similarly benefit,’ adds Frank.
