At New Prospect, Colin Mayhead has replaced John Townsend, who was asked to step down last month in a bid to turn round failing performance at the Salford arm's-length management organisation (HT 18 July, page 13). Townsend has taken early retirement.
Mayhead's most recent job was interim director of housing at Merton council in London.
The housing department of Salford council has been restructured to reflect its new strategic role. Head of housing Bob Osborne has been promoted to deputy director.
Jean Rollinson, previously lead officer for Supporting People, will be assistant director for housing support services.
Kevin Scarlett has joined the team as assistant director for housing support services.
At Peabody, Pam Alexander will succeed Sir Hugh Cubitt when he retires at the end of this year. She has been a Peabody governor since 2000 and is a former deputy chief executive of the Housing Corporation and English Heritage. Alexander has also been appointed non-executive director of Quintain, which is redeveloping the Millennium Dome.
Merseyside pathfinder New Heartlands has appointed former Nottingham New Deal for Communities chief Pauline Davis as managing director. It is a controversial appointment, as she left the Nottingham NDC in June after the body was investigated by the Audit Commission for financial "weaknesses".
New Heartlands has also appointed Dave Farley of Liverpool council as programme and finance manager.
