Some of the most innovative products new on the market have made it to the shortlist in this year's IFSEC Security Industry Innovation Awards … and there are many products to interest security installers in this year's pick of the crop.
This year the 27 shortlisted contenders are battling it out for the top honours in six categories covering the whole of the security product sector.
From a "key" which reads a fingerprint to a formidable rolling barrier … from a mobile live video transmitter to a radically different intruder alarm panel ... this year's finalists cover the widest range of sectors.
Following the judging session, the top 27 entries are lining up to take the honours at the awards, organised in association with the BSIA.
Six winners from this shortlist and one overall "Best of the Best" will be announced at the Awards Dinner on the first night of IFSEC 2005 on May 16.
The event, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the NEC, will also include presentations to winners in categories covering Export and Project Innovation/Installation.
The shortlisted companies and products are detailed in alphabetical order in their categories on the next three pages.
ACCESS CONTROL
Access Management Systems: Cyberlock and Cyberkey
This is a family of lock cylinders that displace existing mechanical cylinders to give real time access management control without the need for wiring or a permanent power supply. The power to update the chip in each cylinder comes from the battery in the Cyberkey which also contains the access rights for the keyholder. Able to be installed in a diverse product range, both CyberLock and CyberKey retain an audit record of activity.
