The 2628S model has 1 kV plastics insulated grips, making them suitable for electrical work. The 2628G models have a rounded handle to spread the forces across the hand; this helps to make work faster and easier.

Tools for the job

A new tool set for electricians from Channellock includes three sizes of tongue and groove pliers.

Right angle teeth provide maximum grip with minimum wear; an undercut tongue and groove design ensures that there is non-slip jaw action. They range in length from 6.5” to 12”.

Makita has repackaged its 18V tool workshop.

The five-tool package includes an 18 V MXT combi-drill; 165 mm diameter blade circular saw; JR180D reciprocating saw; 26 mm stroke jigsaw and torch. These are supplied in a wheeled tool chest trolley.

Hammer time

Hilti has launched two new 15.6 V cordless drill/drivers.

The hammer action SFH 151-A and SF 151-A are available with either NiCD or NiMH batteries. Applications include hammer drilling in bricks and blocks plus high-speed drilling of sheet metal.

Good vibes

To reduce the levels of vibration in its cordless rotary hammer drills DeWalt has developed a gearbox that is internally mounted on dampening springs.

Products involved include the DC212N, two-mode 18 V naked unit; DC213KA, 18 V, three-mode; DC222KA 24 V, two-mode; DC223KA 24 V three-mode with chisel action and the DC224KA three-mode. The 24 V models come with air-cooled batteries as standard.
