Cheshire-based firm APE Project Management has been appointed to act as QS and project manager on a £10m new phase at the Birchwood Park development. The phase includes two three-storey office blocks. Main contractor on the scheme is Rok.
Davis Langdon has been appointed technical advisor for the funders of a Building Schools for the future project in Newcastle, which involves building or refurbishing 16 new schools.
Rochdale firm Quantum has appointed David Chinejani as a consultant and Kevin Smith as a QS and project manager. Chinejani joins from Bluestonee while Smith was formerly with Davis Langdon.
Wakemans has appointed Barry Stephenson as a senior project manager at its Bristol office. He will also be in charge of the day-to-day running of the office.
Cyril Sweett has recruited two people to boost its Southwest operation. The division now numbers 60 staff in two offices: Bristol and the recently opened Exeter branch. Lenny Charlton joins as an associate director in the project management team. He is a qualified architect and joins from Trench Farrow. Meanwhile, Jon Williams joins as assistant cost consultant in the cost management team. He was formerly with Cowlin Construction.
Davis Langdon has promoted Kevin Bradley from associate to partner. Bradley is based in Scotland and runs the 15-strong specialist risk/consulting team. Bradley had been building the team since he joined the firm in 2005. He specialises in providing due diligence advice to funders, including banks.
EC Harris has appointed Pavel Cermak as country manager in the Czech Republic, based in Prague. He replaces Charles Lewis who will remain in the city and take up a regional client development role. Cermak has worked for ECH since 1995. Nick Waring joins the Prague office from Osprey Mott Macdonald as an associate in the project management team.
Lend Lease Projects has made David Sutton its new head of projects. He replaces Phil Wade, who has moved up to the new role of chief operating officer. Sutton is an architect, who in 1996 joined Surrey-based Tanvec, which was bought in 1998 by Bovis Lned Lease. He has been involved with the Lend Lease Project business since January 2005.
Consultancy RLF has drafted in David Meghen as associate. He was previously with Clarus Consulting. Prior to that he was partner in the Meghen Partnership from 1992 to 2001.
