The Chief Executives of three big construction think tanks — Constructing Excellence, Be (Collaborating for the Built Environment), and CIRIA — have met to talk about converging.

Dennis Lenard, head of Constructing Excellence, said: “Each of the organisations has substantial industry commitment and financial investment in communication networks, databases and high level communication protocols and websites.

“There is an opportunity to maximise the outcomes from these investments to become the world’s best construction business improvement group providing high level services supported by intelligent systems to industry partners.”

Don Ward (Be) commented: “All three organisations share a common vision of the future industry, but contribute to it in different ways, so if we can explore closer ties and remove perceived duplication then it can only speed up the change process for leading edge firms.”
