I am, I hope, a logical-thinking individual. My thinking goes like this: I am an engineer, not a climatologist. I understand that climatology, like all science, is not exact and is subject to interpretation.

I also realise that the views expressed by some individual scientists and organisations on the issues of climate change will inevitably be coloured by prejudices or ulterior motives. The view expressed by a large number, and possibly the majority, of climatologists is that CO2 emissions need to be reduced if we are to avoid a potentially disastrous change in climate.

As a professional engineer, I have a moral duty to follow this advice. If these experts are mistaken, then at worst I will have helped to slow down the depletion of fossil fuel reserves and improved energy security. QED.
