Thermoseal Group, the UK manufacturer and supplier of double glazing machinery and consumables, is the exclusive UK distributor of Kömmerling Isomelt sealant.
Thermoseal has hundreds of customers that have been using the Isomelt sealant for sealed unit manufacture over a period of 7-8 years and have yet to have a complaint against the product. Even more impressive is the fact that Thermoseal offers a 10 year insurance backed guarantee. ‘To the best of our knowledge no other company covers replacement or a remedial cost of sealed units’, says Group Sales Director Mark Hickox.
Isomelt can go an estimated 20°C higher at the glass/spacer bar interface than most other materials before it is affected in any way,’ claims Kömmerling. This is of particular interest to manufacturers of units destined for conservatory roofs where glass surface temperatures are extremely high.
Kömmerling Isomelt is solvent free. It has a strong bond to glass and aluminium, and has the benefit of no sealant waste. Isomelt can be applied at temperatures between 165°C and 180°C and performs well in all weather conditions, says Thermoseal.
The Kömmerling Isomelt can work in either a standard gunning machine or a variety of robot applications. This is highlighted at Thermoseal’s headquarters in Birmingham where they have a CNC Hot-Melt robot manufactured by Simec, which is available for demonstrations.
On production units the pump will be fitted with the new Hotmelt micro-processor control and will soon be available on Thermoseal’s complete range of Hotmelt machinery.
