The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts at the University of East Anglia in Norwich has been given a new lease of life.

The Norwich office of Kier Eastern project managed the work, which included an education studio, refurbished cafe and new exhibition areas. At the heart of the changes made by architect Foster and Partners is a 72-metre long gallery that gives public access between the displays in the original 1978 building and the 1991-built Crescent Wing. M&E systems were totally replaced; T Clarke of Peterborough was electrical contractor, mechanical work was by Kershaw Mechanical Services of Cambridge.
